 Iceberg lettuce head1 , shredded (Salad)
 1 head romaine, chopped
 Sharp cheddar cheese1 Cup (16 tbs), grated (Salad)
 Monterey jack cheese1 Cup (16 tbs), grated (Salad)
 Cilantro1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped (Salad)
 2 large tomatoes, skinned, seeded, and chopped
 Scallions6 , chopped (Salad)
 Ground meat mixture
 1 pound ground beef, chicken, or turkey
 Oil1 Tablespoon (Salad)
 Chili powder2 Tablespoon (Salad)
 Ground cumin2 Teaspoon (Salad)
 Garlic salt1 Teaspoon (Salad)
 Onion powder1 Teaspoon (Salad)
 Olive oil1/2 Cup (16 tbs) (Dressing)
 Juice of 4 limes
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon (Dressing)

Directions

Place all the salad ingredients in a large salad bowl.
In a medium-size saute pan over medium heat, saute the meat in the oil.
When browned, add the remaining ingredients and saute briefly.
Drain the meat and set aside to cool.
Blend the dressing ingredients well and stir the dressing into the salad.
Mix the meat into the salad.
You can serve in warmed taco salad shells or warmed flour tortillas, or with crispy or soft corn tortillas.
Or you can simply serve it as a salad.
