Swiss Steak Recipe
This Swiss Steak tastes heavenly wth rice ! This round steak sauteed with vegetables is a sure party treat ! Try out this Swiss Steak
Ingredients
4 tablespoons oil
1 1/2 pounds round steak, trimmed and cubed
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
Salt and pepper
1 16 ounce can tomatoes
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1/2 medium onion, sliced
1 cup water
4-5 cups cooked rice
Directions
Heat the oil in a large skillet.
Coat the steak with flour, and fry in oil.
Salt and pepper steak.
When brown on both sides, drain off excess fat.
Blend tomatoes in the Bosch blender.
Add tomatoes, green pepper, onion, and water to meat in skillet.
Cover, and simmer 1 to 2 hours or until meat is tender.
Stir occasionally.
Serve over hot rice.
NOTE: Other grains may be used in place of the rice.
