Flour- 1/2 cup
Salt and pepper- to taste
Steak- 2 pounds, cut 2 1/2 inches thick from shoulder, rump or round
Fat- 2 tablespoons
Onion- few slices
Green pepper- 1/2, chopped fine
Water- 1 cup, boiling
Tomatoes- 1 cup, strained

GETTING READY
1.Start by preheating the oven to 350F degrees
MAKING
2.Season flour with salt and pepper and pound it into the meat using a wooden potato masher or the edge of a heavy meat mallet
3.Brown the meat in fat
4.Add onions, green pepper, boiling water and tomatoes
5.Cover closely and simmer for 2 hours
6.It can be cooked in casserole in moderate oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours
7.Vegetables can be added, if desired
