Microwaved Swiss Steak Recipe
Swiss Steak is an amazingly easy to prepare recipe which cannot just escape your guests' attention in any party. I bet, you will surely get a huge fan following for this one!
Ingredients
| 2 lbs. beef round steak, 1/2 inch thick | ||
| Meat tenderizer | ||
| All purpose flour | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Black pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Onions | 2 Medium, thinly sliced | |
| Stewed tomatoes | 1 Can (10oz), undrained | |
| Worcestershire sauce | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Cut meat into 8 pieces.
Sprinkle with meat tenderizer and tenderize according to package directions.
Sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper.
Pound meat with a mallet or edge of a saucer.
Place half of meat in a 3 qt.glass casserole dish.
Arrange half of the onion slices over meat.
Repeat layers.
Combine tomatoes and worcestershire sauce and pour over top.
Cover and microwave on DEFROST for 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes [SIMMER 4, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours] Give dish a 1/2 turn during cooking.
