Swiss Custard Recipe

This Swiss Custard will mesmerize any eater, be it fussy or easy. You don't need to be an expert to make out how mouth-watering and flavorful this dish really is.

Ingredients

 
4 slices bacon
 
1 1/2 cups light cream or table cream
 
1 teaspoon grated onion
 
4 eggs
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
Dash of cayenne
 
1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (6 ounces)

Directions

Cut bacon into 1-inch pieces; saute until al-most crisp in a medium-size frying pan; remove and drain on paper toweling.
Scald cream with onion in a small saucepan.
Beat eggs slightly with salt and cayenne in a medium-size bowl; stir in cream mixture slowly.
Sprinkle cheese in an even layer in a greased shallow 6-cup baking dish; pour egg mixture on top; sprinkle with bacon.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 25 minutes, or until custard is set.
