Kirsch Flavored Swiss Cheese Fondue Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup dry white wine
1 1/2 pounds imported process Gruyere cheese
1 cup Kirsch
1 loaf French bread, in 1-inch cubes
Directions
Using earthenware fondue pot, heat wine on stove until almost to boiling point.
Do not let wine boil.
Add the grated cheese, a little at a time, stirring constantly with a wooden fork.
Add more cheese as the mixture takes on a creamy blend.
Be certain to stir the mixture constantly.
When all cheese has been blended, add Kirsch.
Mix in and remove fondue pot to an alcohol burner on low heat and stir as the mixture gradually thickens.
Spear bread cubes with fondue fork and dip into the cheese mixture.
