Swiss And Frank Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell | ||
| Chopped onion | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), frozen | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Frankfurters | 2 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced | |
| Shredded Swiss cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs), Processed | |
| 3 slightly beaten eggs | ||
| Milk | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Dry mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1 Dash | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 450°.
Bake pastry shell at 450° just till lightly browned, about 7 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Reduce oven temperature to 325°.
Meanwhile, in a small skillet cook onion in butter or margarine till tender but not brown.
Place sliced frankfurters, shredded Swiss cheese, and cooked onion in baked pastry shell.
In bowl combine eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt, ground nutmeg, and pepper.
Pour egg mixture over frankfurter-cheese mixture.
Bake pie at 325° till almost set in the center, 35 to 40 minutes.
Let set 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
Cut into wedges.
