Sweet-Sour Beef And Cabbage Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup soft bread crumbs
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 medium-sized onion finely chopped
1/2 green pepper seeded and chopped
1 clove garlic minced or mashed
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons salad oil
1 head cabbage (about 2 lbs.) Sweet-Sour Sauce
Directions
Combine in a bowl the meat, bread crumbs, egg, onion, green pepper, garlic, parsley, and salt.
Mix with your hands until well blended, then shape into balls about golf ball size.
Using a Dutch oven or similar pan, heat oil over medium heat and brown meatballs, turning to brown all sides.
Drain off any fat.
Remove core and cut cabbage into narrow wedges; arrange over the meat.
Pour Sweet-Sour Sauce over the cabbage and meat, cover pan, reduce heat, and simmer gently for 15 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
