Recipe Story

This sweet dish is prepared for most Hindu festivals like Diwali, Dussera, Holi, Ugadi, Pongal, Sankranthi.

Ingredients

 Rice1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Moong dal1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Water5 Cup (80 tbs)
 Sugar2 Cup (32 tbs) (adjust sugar as per taste)
 Ghee3 Tablespoon
 Raisins10
 Cashew nuts6 , chopped

Directions

Wash a cup of rice & and a cup of moong dal. Add 5 cups water & pressure cook up to 5 whistles. The rice & dal should be cooked thoroughly and become almost soft.

Add sugar & mix thoroughly. You can add more sugar for more sweetness.

Heat ghee in a small wok. Add raisins and chopped cashews. Mix until cashews turn lightly brown. Add this to rice. Mix well.

Serve Hot.
