Sweet Onion Rings Recipe

Ingredients

 
2 medium onions
 
½ cup all purpose flour/ refined flour / maida
 
½ cup corn flour /rice flour
 
1 egg
 
4 tsp sugar
 
Salt to taste
 
Oil for frying
 
Water

Directions

GETTING READY
1.Peel and cut onions into roundels. Remove onion rings from the roundels.

MAKING
2.In a bowl mix the flours, egg, sugar and salt together.
3.Add little water to make a smooth and thick batter.
4.In a deep frying pan or kadai heat enough oil.
5.Dip the onion rings in the prepared batter and immediately place in the hot oil to fry.
6.Fry the rings till they attain a light golden color.
7.Remove the rings on an absorbent paper and serve immediately.

SERVING
8.Onions rings are best relished sprinkled with some chaat masala and accompanied with a hot cup of tea.

TIPS
If you wish to make spicy onion rings instead of sweet onions rings then just add 1/4th tsp garam masala powder & 1/4th tsp red chilly powder instead of sugar in the batter.
