Sweet-And-Spicy Short Ribs Recipe

Ingredients
3 to 4 pounds beef short ribs
1 cup catsup
1 cup water
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 bay leaf
2 medium-size onions, sliced
Directions
Combine short ribs with remaining ingredients, except onions, in large saucepan; cover.
Simmer for 2 hours, or until tender.
Cool, then chill until 1 1/4 hours before serving time.
Skim off all fat and remove any loose bones from ribs; remove bay leaf.
Place meat in a 6-cup baking dish; pour sauce over; top with onion slices; cover.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 30 minutes; uncover; baste onions with sauce in dish.
Bake for 30 minutes longer, or until meat is very tender.
