Sweet And Sour Sauce With Apples Recipe

Ingredients
| Lean bacon slice | 3 | |
| Bay leaf | 1 Small | |
| 2 cups raspberry or white wine vinegar | ||
| Cloves | 2 | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), pressed | |
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Tabasco sauce | ||
| Apple Juice | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Arrowroot | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Apples | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Cold water | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Fry the bacon until it is very crisp.
Drain well.
Crumble the bacon.
Reserve.
Add the vinegar, sugar, apple juice, apples, cinnamon, bay leaf, cloves, garlic, and 4 to 6 drops of Tabasco sauce to the fat left in the skillet.
Simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
Discard the bay leaf and cloves.
Dissolve the arrowroot in the cold water.
Add to the sauce.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
Add the crumbled bacon.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
