1/2 cup pure maple syrup, raw honey, or unsulfured molasses
 
3 cups whole wheat flour, or a mixture of whole wheat flour and rye flour, or whole wheat pastry fbur
 
2 teaspoons low-sodium baking powder
 
1 teaspoon sea salt
 
1/2 cup raisins, chopped dried fruits, or chopped nuts or seeds

Directions

Beat eggs, milk, butter, and syrup together.
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt and stir into the liquids.
Fold in fruit or nuts.
Pour into an oiled loaf pan.
Bake at 350 Degree for 1 hour.
Cool on rack.
