 Active dry yeast1
 Lukewarm water1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)

 1/4 cup butter or margarine, cut into 4 pieces
 1 egg, room temperature
 All purpose flour2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

Dissolve yeast in warm water in the processor bowl.
Add sugar, salt, butter, egg, and 1 1/2 cups flour.
Process 15 seconds.
Let rise in the processor bowl for 20 minutes.
Add remaining cup of flour and process until a ball forms on the blades, about 5 seconds.
Remove dough and knead on a floured surface for 1 to 2 minutes.
Shape, rise, and bake as directed in the following recipes.
Rising time for sweet-roll dough is longer than for bread dough because sugar slows the growth of the yeast.
