Sweet 'N Sour Meatballs With Rice Recipe

Ingredients

 
2 lb. ground beef
 
1 c. fresh bread crumbs
 
1/4 c. milk
 
1 egg, slightly beaten
 
1 med. onion, chopped
 
1 green pepper
 
1 clove of garlic, minced
 
1 tsp. salt
 
1/4 tsp. pepper Soy sauce
 
2 tbsp. salad oil
 
2 tbsp. cornstarch
 
1/4 c. vinegar
 
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
 
1/2 c. water
 
14 c. brown sugar, packed
 
1 13 1/2 oz. can pineapple tidbits
 
1 c. sliced celery
 
Hot cooked rice

Directions

Mix beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, onion, 1/2 green pepper finely chopped, garlic, salt, pepper and 1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce.
Shape into 1-inch balls and brown in oil on all sides.
Blend cornstarch with vinegar in large pan until smooth; add ginger, l/2 cup soy sauce, water and brown sugar.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Stir in pineapple (including syrup), celery and remaining 1/2 green pepper, sliced.
Add meatballs; simmer, stirring occasionally for 20 minutes.
Serve with rice.
