Microwaved Sweet Sour Red Cabbage Recipe

Directions

1. Mix 2 tablespoons water, 2 tablespoons vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon salt and the cabbage in 2-quart casserole. Cover tightly and microwave on high (100%) 4 minutes; stir. Cover and microwave until tender, 4 to 6 minutes longer; drain.
2. Place bacon in 1-quart casserole. Cover with paper towel and microwave on high (100%) until crisp, 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 minutes; drain on paper towels. Drain fat from casserole; return 1 tablespoon fat to casserole.
3. Stir brown sugar and flour into fat in casserole. Add 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1 teaspoon salt, the pepper and onion. Microwave uncovered on high (100%), stirring every minute, until mixture thickens, 2 to 3 minutes.
4. Sprinkle bacon on sauce mixture; stir into hot cabbage. Top each serving with sour cream.
