Sweet Sour Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients
| 6 rib pork chops, cut about 3/4 inch thick | ||
| Chicken broth | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| White vinegar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Onion | 1 Medium, thinly sliced | |
| 2 carrots, diagonally sliced | ||
| 1 each medium green and red peppers in thin wedges | ||
| Seedless raisins | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cornstarch | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Mandarin oranges | 1 Can (10oz), drained | |
| Soy sauce | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Hot cooked rice | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Brown chops on both sides in large skillet.
Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Add next 3 ingredients, cover and simmer 25 minutes.
Add vegetables and simmer 8 minutes, or until vegetables are done but still crisp.
Add raisins, cornstarch dissolved in reserved fruit syrup, and soy sauce.
Simmer, stirring, a few minutes, or until thickened and clear.
Add mandarin wedges and heat gently.
Season lightly with salt and pepper.
