Sweet Apple Snitz And Dumplings Recipe
Ingredients
4 cups (about 1 pound) dried apples
4 cups water
Honey to taste
1 cup sifted whole wheat flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Milk
Directions
1. Soak the dried apples in the water for 30 minutes. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes, or until tender. Sweeten with honey.
2. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Stir in enough milk to make a stiff dumpling batter.
3. Drop the batter by the tablespoon onto the top of the simmering apple mixture. Cover tightly and cook for 15 minutes.
