Sweet And Spicy Glaze Recipe
This sweet and spicy glaze is a meat glaze. Prepared with mixed fruits and juice, with red pepper and ginger for that spicy taste, the glaze is sweetened with added sugar. Slightly cooked with raisins, peaches, pineapple and orange juice and peel, the sweet and spicy glaze is great as a flavoring agent for meats of choice.
Ingredients
| Packed brown sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cider vinegar | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Golden Raisins | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Peaches | 1 Can (10oz), drained | |
| Cornstarch | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Orange juice | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Crushed pineapple | 1 Can (10oz), undrained | |
| Orange peel | 1 Tablespoon, grated | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Red pepper flakes | 1/2 Teaspoon, crushed | |
| Grated ginger | 1/2 Teaspoon |
Directions
Combine brown sugar, vinegar, raisins and peach syrup in medium saucepan.
Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce to low and simmer 8 to 10 minutes.
In small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in orange juice; add to brown sugar mixture.
Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens.
Remove from heat.
