Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage Recipe
Ingredients
| Brown sugar | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Cold water | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Vinegar | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Dry red wine | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Cornstarch | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1 Dash | |
| Cooking oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 1/2 of a small head red cabbage, shredded (4 cups) | ||
| Onion | 1 Medium | |
| Apple pear | 1 Medium, cored | |
Directions
For sauce, stir together brown sugar, water, vinegar, wine, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
Set aside.
Preheat a wok or large skillet over high heat; add cooking oil.
(Add more oil as necessary during cooking.) Stir-fry cabbage in hot oil for 1 minute.
Add onion; stir-fry for 1 minute.
Add pear or apple; stir-fry about 1 minute or till cabbage is crisp-tender.
Push vegetable mixture from center of the wok.
Stir sauce; add to center of the wok or skillet.
Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
Cook and stir for 1 minute more.
Stir in vegetable mixture to coat with sauce.
Serve immediately.
