Sweet And Sour Dumplings Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For dumplings :) | |
| Cornflour | 2 Tablespoon (For dumplings :) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon (For dumplings :) | |
| Cornflour | 2 Tablespoon (For sauce:) | |
| Soya sauce, 1 teaspoon | ||
| Vinegar | 4 Tablespoon (For sauce:) | |
| Brown sugar or plain sugar, 4 tablespoons | ||
| Stock or water, 1 1/2 cups | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon (For sauce:) | |
| Milk or water, 4 to 6 tablespoons | ||
| Oil | 2 Teaspoon (For sauce:) | |
| Olive salad | 3 Tablespoon (For sauce:) | |
| Tomato ketchup | 3 Tablespoon (For sauce:) | |
| Garlic | 3 Clove (5gm), crushed (For sauce:) | |
| Spring onion or onion, finely chopped, 200 gms | ||
| Ginger | 1/2 Teaspoon, crushed (For sauce:) | |
Directions
To make dumplings, sift together flour, cornflour, salt and baking powder.
Rub in oil.
Add milk and make a stiff dough.
Make balls about 1/2 inch in diameter.
Arrange balls a little apart, on a sieve and steam cook them for 30 minutes.
To prepare sauce, heat oil in a pan and fry onion.
Blend together the rest of the ingredients and add to the onions.
Cook till transparent and clear, stirring all the time.
Lower dumplings into hot sauce and simmer for two minutes.
