Sweet and Pungent Shrimp Recipe
Ingredients
| Brown sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed | |
| Cornstarch | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Vinegar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Soy sauce | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Ground ginger | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pineapple chunks | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), canned | |
| 1 green pepper, cut in strips | ||
| 2 small onions, cut in rings | ||
| 1 pound shrimp, cleaned and cooked | ||
Directions
1. In a saucepan mix the sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add the vinegar, soy sauce, ginger and syrup drained from the pineapple and cook slowly until slightly thickened, stirring constantly.
2. Add the green pepper, onions and pineapple and simmer two minutes.
3. Add the shrimp, bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and serve immediately with hot rice.
