1 Basic White Bread
 
3 tsp granulated fructose
 
Vegetable oil for frying

Directions

Roll the dough on an unfloured surface.
Sprinkle dough with the fructose.
Roll up as a jelly roll.
Reroll dough on an unfloured surface into an 8 in. (20 cm) square.
With a sharp knife, cut the dough into 12 equal pieces.
Push your thumb into the middle of each piece.
Form doughnut by turning each piece around with your fingers.
Place on a lightly floured surface.
Cover and allow to double in size.
Heat the oil to 375°F (190°C).
Drop in a few doughnuts at a time; turn frequently until puffed and golden.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
