Swedish Meat Balls Recipe

Ingredients
| Shortening | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Onion – 1/3 cup, finely chopped | ||
| Beef – 1 pound, ground | ||
| Pork | 1/2 Pound | |
| Breadcrumbs | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs – 2, well beaten | ||
| Salt | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Milk or water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Shortening | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), melted | |
| Beef Bouillon Cubes – 3 | ||
| Flour | 5 Tablespoon | |
| Lemon juice | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| Bay leaves | 3 | |
Directions
MAKING
1) In a skillet, melt some shortening and sauté the onion till tender
2) Add in the ground meats, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, salt, sugar, pepper, water or milk
3) Using the hands shape into 1 ½ inch balls
4) In a skillet, add in the melted fat and fry till browned
5) Using a slotted spoon, remove and keep on absorbent paper
6) In a pan of water, dissolve the beef bouillon cubes
7) Add in the flour, in the remaining fat in the skillet, add the bouillon water and the lemon juice and stir till thick
8) Add in the bay leaves and the fried meat balls
9) Cook on a low heat for an hour

10) Serve the meatballs warm
