Swedish Ginger Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

 
1 Cup Butter or Margarine
 
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
 
1 Egg
 
1 1/2 Tbs. Grated Orange Peel
 
2 Tbs. Dark Corn Syrup
 
1 Tbs. Water
 
3 1/4 Cups Sifted Allpurpose Flour
 
2 Tsp. Soda
 
2 Tsp. Cinnamon
 
1 Tsp. Ginger
 
1/2 Tsp. Cloves

Directions

Cream butter and sugar; add egg and beat till light and fluffy.
Add orange peel, corn syrup; add water and mix well.
Sift dry ingredients together; stir into creamed mixture.
Chill thoroughly.
On lightly floured surface, roll to 1/4" thickness.
Cut with floured cookie cutters.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet; bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minute.
Cool on rack.
