Swedish Tea Ring Recipe

Ingredients
Dough
1/2 cup scalded milk
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
1 package dry yeast
1 egg
3 cups whole wheat flour
Filling
1 cup prune pulp
1/4 cup prune juice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons honey
1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions
Combine milk, butter, honey, and salt.
Cool to lukewarm by adding water.
Add yeast and mix well.
Blend in egg, then cover and allow to set in a warm place for about 10 minutes.
Add flour and mix until dough is well blended and soft.
Roll into 14 x 12-inch rectangle.
Simmer until thick prune pulp, juice, cinnamon, lemon juice, honey, and salt.
Cool.
Spread evenly on rolled dough.
Roll as for jelly roll and place on greased baking sheet.
Twist dough to form ring and join ends.
With scissors, slash deep gashes about 1 inch apart.
Turn each piece on its side, cut edge up.
Cover with cloth and let rise in warm place until light, about 45 minutes.
