 Dried apricots1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Apples3/4 Cup (16 tbs), dried
 Peaches1/2 Cup (16 tbs), dried
 Prunes1/2 Cup (16 tbs), pitted
 1/2 cup dark seedless raisins
 Water2 Quart
 Sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Slivered blanched almonds
 Quick-cooking tapioca3 Tablespoon
 Cinnamon stick1 3 Inch
 Orange peel1 Teaspoon, grated
 1 cup red raspberry or strawberry fruit syrup
 Whipped cream

Directions

Rinse the fruit well in cold water.
Put fruit into a large sauce pot with a tight-fitting cover and add water; cover and soak 2-3 hours.
Add sugar, tapioca, cinnamon and orange peel.
Bring to boiling; reduce heat, cover and simmer about 45 minutes, or until fruit is tender.
Remove from heat and stir in syrup.
Chill.
