Surprise Sausage Flan Recipe
Personally, I think that this Surprise Sausage Flan is the best in the world. That is why I am excited about sharing this with you. The Surprise Sausage Flan is made with Meat Meatloaf which is easy to procure from any grocery store. I am sure both of us will be in agreement that this Surprise Sausage Flan is very delectable.
Ingredients
3/4 (17-1/4-oz., 489-g) pkg. frozen puff pastry, thawed
Filling:
3 tablespoons oil
1 onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 oz. (100 g) ground beef
4 oz. (100 g) ground pork
3 tablespoons fresh white breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon anchovy paste
3 link sausages
2 oz. (50 g) garlic sausage, sliced
2 eggs
Scant 1/4 cup (50 ml) milk
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Directions
On a floured surface, roll out puff pastry dough to fit a 9-inch (23-cm) flan tin with a removable bottom.
Place dough in tin without stretching.
Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
To make filling, heat oil in a small skillet.
Add onion and fry until soft.
Add garlic, salt and pepper; fry 5 minutes.
Remove from heat.
In a medium bowl, combine ground beef and pork, breadcrumbs, anchovy paste and onion mixture.
Spread meat mixture over pastry shell.
Broil or fry sausage links until well-browned; slice.
Arrange sausage link slices and garlic sausage slices over meat mixture.
In a small bowl, beat eggs, milk, marjoram and thyme; pour over sausage filling.
Bake 40 minutes.
