Sunflower Seed Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups barley flour
1 teaspoon soda
3 cups quickcooking rolled oats
1 cup sunflower seeds
Directions
Combine butter or margarine and brown sugar in Bosch bowl.
Mix thoroughly.
Add remaining ingredients in the order listed, mixing well after each addition.
Roll the dough into logs 2 inches in diameter.
Wrap in plastic wrap or waxed paper, and chill until firm.
Slice dough 1/2 inch thick, and arrange on ungreased baking sheets.
Allow 1 inch between cookies.
Press lightly with a fork.
Bake in a 350° F.
Oven for 10 minutes.
Remove from baking sheet, cool on wire racks, and store in an airtight container
