Apple Berry Crisp Recipe Video
A simple to make Summer Berry Crisp recipe.
Have I mentioned that I love desserts? Well, I do!
This recipe is great when you're looking for a yummy dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth, but you don't want to over indulge.
It's not super sweet because I don't like to over power the fresh, yummy berries with too much sugar. Although, if you find that your berries are not super sweet themselves, you might want to add just a little more sugar to help them along!
You could also use frozen berries in this recipe, not only would they taste great but they would save you a few bucks as well...Enjoy!
Ingredients
* 5 cups of berries (I used 2 cups raspberries, 2 cups blueberries, and 1 cup blackberries)
* 1/3 cup of brown sugar
* 1/3 cup of whole wheat flour
* 1 cup of rolled oats
* 2 tbsp. flax seeds
* 1 tsp. cinnamon
* 2 tbsp. canola oil
* ¼ cup of sliced almonds
* A pinch of salt
Serves 8.
Directions
Preheat oven to 350.
In a large bowl, combine berries with ¼ cup of the brown sugar and 2 tbsp. of flour.
In a separate bowl combine remaining sugar, flour, oats, flax seeds, salt, and cinnamon. Stir in the canola oil and work with your finger tips until the mixture is moist. Stir in almonds.
Pour berries into a 9-inch pie pan and top with the oat mixture. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until berries are bubbly (yum)...enjoy!
