Summer Fruit Platter Recipe
The summer fruit platter is a mixed fruit platter. Prepared with added melons and strawberries, the summer fruit platter is best dressed with lime honey or marshmallow blizzard dressing. Chilled and served, it is absolutely yum!
Ingredients
| Whole fresh pineapple | ||
| Apples Fresh pears | ||
| Fresh strawberries, sliced | ||
| Oranges, sliced crosswise | ||
| Cantaloupe wedges | ||
| Stewed prunes, drained | ||
| Lime Honey or Marshmallow | ||
| Blizzard | ||
Directions
Chill fruit.
Halve pineapple lengthwise; remove hard core.
Scoop out fruit and cut into chunks.
Cube apples and pears; toss with pineapple and strawberries.
Pile fruit mixture into pineapple shells.
Arrange on a tray with orange slices, cantaloupe wedges, and prunes.
If desired, garnish with sprigs of mint.
Serve with Lime Honey or Marshmallow Blizzard Dressing.
Lime Honey: Blend together 1/4 cup honey with 2 tablespoons lime juice.
Add dash salt.
Marshmallow Blizzard: To half of 7-ounce jar marshmallow creme, add 1 tablespoon each orange juice and lemon juice.
With electric or rotary beater, beat till very fluffy.
Fold in 1/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing.
