Directions

Cream sugar, vegetable shortening, eggs, milk, and vanilla.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; blend into egg mixture.
Roll 1 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface; cut with cookie cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet; bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove from sheet immediately; sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
