Sugar Crusted French Toast Recipe
My passion for Sugar Crusted French Toast grew during high school days. Sugar Crusted French Toast served as Breakfast is the best food to pep me up. Trust me when I say, you have to try Sugar Crusted French Toast.
Ingredients
2 eggs
2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 1-inch-thick slices French bread
2 tablespoons margarine or butter
1 tablespoon margarine or butter, melted
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
1 In a small bowl beat together eggs, milk, the 2 tablespoons sugar, and vanilla. Place bread in a 2-quart baking dish. Pour egg mixture over bread; turn bread to coat. Refrigerate 20 to 30 minutes or until egg mixture is absorbed.
2 In a large skillet or on a griddle melt the 2 tablespoons margarine or butter over medium heat. Cook bread on both sides in hot margarine for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Transfer to a baking sheet. Brush tops of bread slices with the 1 tablespoon melted margarine or butter. Combine the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon; sprinkle on bread slices. Broil 4 inches from heat for 1 1/2 to
2 minutes or just until sugar is caramelized.
