With a slotted spoon, remove bacon; drain on paper towels and set aside.
Discard all but 1 tablespoon drippings.
Add lima beans and water; cover and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer until beans are tender (10 to 12 minutes).
Add corn and cook, uncovered, over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until corn is tender and most of liquid is absorbed (about 5 minutes).
Stir in bacon and butter; season to taste with salt and pepper.
