Ingredients

 Renkon (lotus or lily root) - 1 section (10 inches)
 Vinegar1/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Water1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar3 Tablespoon
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Monosodium glutamate1/4 Teaspoon
 Abalone1/4 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced
 Carrots1/4 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced
 Sesame seeds1 Teaspoon, toasted

Directions

GETTING READY
1) Skin renkon and slice thinly crosswise.

MAKING
2) In a saucepan pour vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and monosodium glutamate.
3) Stir and let boil.
4) Mix renkon and cook 4 to 5 minutes.
5) Take off from heat.
6) Stir in abalone and carrots gently.
7) Sprinkle sesame seeds over it.

SERVING
8) Chill and serve.
