Su Renkon Recipe
Ingredients
| Renkon (lotus or lily root) - 1 section (10 inches) | ||
| Vinegar | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Monosodium glutamate | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Abalone | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced | |
| Carrots | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced | |
| Sesame seeds | 1 Teaspoon, toasted | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Skin renkon and slice thinly crosswise.
MAKING
2) In a saucepan pour vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and monosodium glutamate.
3) Stir and let boil.
4) Mix renkon and cook 4 to 5 minutes.
5) Take off from heat.
6) Stir in abalone and carrots gently.
7) Sprinkle sesame seeds over it.
SERVING
8) Chill and serve.
