Stuffed Turkey Recipe
This Stuffed Turkey is one of my most favorite turkey dishes. Try this turkey stuffed with an irresistible mixture of deliciously herbed and spiced pork, meat and rice fillings. Your suggestions for this Stuffed Turkey are welcome.
Ingredients
1/4 Cup (60 ml) butter
3 onions, chopped
1 lb (450 g) pork meat, diced
1 lb (450 g) beef, diced
2 Cups (500 ml) uncooked rice (fast-cooking)
2 Cups (500 ml) celery, chopped
1 tbsp (15 ml) fines herbes
1 turkey, 10 to 12 lbs (4,5 to 5,4 kg)
6 slices bacon
3 onions, sliced
6 slices solid pork fat
Salt and pepper
1 tbsp (15 ml) fines herbes
2 tsp (10 ml) paprika
Directions
– Preheat oven to 325 °F (160 °C).
– In a large skillet, melt butter and saute onions.
– Add diced meat, rice, celery and 1 tbsp (15 ml) fines herbes, and cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
– Stuff turkey with this mixture.
– Line a roasting pan with aluminum foil and pork fat slices, then put in the turkey.
– Place sliced onions and 6 bacon slices on top of turkey, season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with 1 tbsp (15 ml) fines herbes and paprika.
– Cook in oven 20 to 30 minutes per pound
