Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup coarsely chopped mushrooms
1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
1 teaspoon salt

2 halibut steaks, weighing

Directions
1. Preheat oven to hot (400° F.).
2. In a skillet heat the butter, add the onion and cook until it is transparent. Add the mushrooms, parsley and seasonings and cook five minutes longer. Stir in the bread crumbs and cream.
3. Oil a baking dish and place one of the fish steaks on the bottom. Cover the center with the stuffing and top with the second steak. Skewer with toothpicks.
4. Brush the top steak with butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, thirty to forty minutes. Baste with a little melted butter while cooking.
