 Whole grouse4 , skinned
 Tart green apples2 , peeled and diced
 Water1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
 Currants1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Whole wheat bread1 Cup (16 tbs), diced
 Shelled pinion nuts1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Salt1⁄4 Teaspoon
 Pepper1⁄4 Teaspoon

Directions

Simmer apples in water until soft.
Mix with remaining ingredients.
Stuff grouse and secure legs.
Brush with melted margarine and place in oven cooking bags, two birds to a bag.
Bake 350°F.for 2 hours.
