Strings Of Flats Recipe
Strings of flats are griddle cooked flour and egg cakes. Prepared with milk in the batter, the strings of flats can be served as sides in meals or as breakfast or snacks with honey or syrup drizzled over it.
Ingredients
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar into a mixing bowl.
In a separate container, beat eggs "until light, then stir in milk and melted butter.
With as few strokes as possible blend egg mixture in with the dry ingredients.
Pour batter onto a hot, greased griddle (griddle is hot enough when a few drops of water tested on it sizzle) and cook until both sides are nicely browned.
