Directions
Wash and hull berries; cut enough berries in half to make 4 cups total.
Set remaining whole berries aside.
In a 2 quart batter bowl or casserole, stir together the 4 cups cut strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and butter.
Cover with wax paper.
Microwave on HIGH (100%) for 6 to 7 minutes (stirring every 3 minutes) or until mixture boils and thickens.
Pour into baked pastry shell; let cool completely.
Top with whole strawberries and refrigerate.
Before serving, top with whipped cream, if desired.
