Easy Strawberry Pie Filling Recipe

Ingredients
1 quart strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2cup water
1 9-inch baked pie shell
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
Directions
Wash and hull berries.
Cut all large and perfect berries into 2 or 3 slices.
Take remaining berries and mash.
Combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan.
Add water and crushed berries.
Cook over low heat until clear and slightly thickened.
Cool.
Stir in sliced berries.
Spread bottom of pie shell with half the whipped cream.
Add half of berry mixture.
Repeat layers.
Chill in refrigerator before serving.
