Recipe Story

Made this recipe for a holiday dessert and there was not a morsel left, everyone was going for seconds and thirds

Ingredients

 
2 (8 oz) cream cheese softened
 
2 cups powdered sugar
 
1 cup sour cream
 
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
 
1/4 tsp almond extract plus 2 tbsp almond extract
 
3 tbsp sugar
 
1 (12 oz) Cool Whip
 
1 Angel Food Cake, cut into bite size pieces
 
2 quarts fresh strawberries (cleaned, stemmed & Thinly sliced)
 
Note: I used Regular Cool Whip and 1/2 container of small Strawberry Cool Whip
 
Optional: Any fruit of your choice instead of strawberries

Directions

In large bowl, cream together cream cheese and powdered sugar.
Add sour cream, 1/2 tsp vanilla extra & 1/4 tsp almond extract. Set aside
Combine strawberries with 3 tbsp of sugar and 2 tbsp almond extract. Set aside
In cream mixture, fold in Cool Whip and then carefully fold in angel food pieces and set aside
In large glass serving bowl, lay in order:
1/3 strawberries
1/2 half cake/cream mixture
1/3 strawberries
1/2 half cake/cream mixture
1/3 strawberries
Decorate with fanned whole strawberries
Cover and chill WELL before serving (suggest at least 6 hours)
