Strawberry And Apricot Croutes Recipe

Barbecued Fruits, what a yummy way to spend the Labor day holiday? Strawberry and Apricot Croutes is such a easy to prepare dish that most kids take up the responsibilty to make and serve them for the Labor Day weekend. You need not limit yourself to the fruits mentioned here, use any of your choice which are firm enough to bare the heat.

Ingredients

 4 thick slices of white or wholemeal bread, each cut into 9 cubes
 100 g/4 oz/1/2 cup butter, melted
 12 strawberries, hulled
 6 apricots, halved and stoned
 Caster (superfine) sugar, for sprinkling
 Strawberry or apricot Greek style yoghurt

Directions

Dip the bread cubes in some of the melted butter and thread alternately with the fruit on to six soaked wooden skewers.
Brush the fruits with melted butter and sprinkle with caster sugar.
Barbecue for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until lightly golden.
Serve with the flavored yoghurt.
