Strawberry Buttery Shortcake Recipe

Preparing this Strawberry Shortcake recipe is the second best way to please a crowd. Am sure you are aware of the first??? It is always prepared with Milk Product as the key ingredient. It is the answer when you look for a tasty Dessert. I challenge you to give me a better recipe of Strawberry Shortcake than this.

Ingredients

 
4 cups all-purpose flour
 
1/4 cup sugar
 
6 teaspoons baking powder
 
1 cup butter or margarine
 
2 beaten eggs
 
1 1/3 cups light cream Butter or margarine
 
1 cup whipping cream, whipped
 
3 to 4 cups sliced strawberries, sweetened

Directions

Stir together dry ingredients and 1 teaspoon salt; cut in 1 cup butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Combine eggs and cream; add to dry ingredients, stirring to moisten.
Spread in 2 greased 8x1 1/2-inch round baking pans; build up edges.
Bake at 450° for 15 to 18 minutes.
Remove from pans; cool on racks 5 minutes.
Spread one layer with butter.
Spoon berries and cream between layers and on top.
