Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Recipe Video
Strawberry rhubarb pie is a popular summer dessert recipe. This recipe tastes wonderful, there is sweetness of strawberries and tartness of rhubarb. It is encased in a creamy pastry, flavored with cinnamon and can be eaten with ice creams. Sounds really delicious!!
Ingredients
4 c strawberries
3 1/2 c rhubarb
1/2 c white sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 c starch
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
Ingredients for crust
3 c flour
2 1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 c + 2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 c ice cold water
Directions
1. Chop strawberries and rhubarbs into tiny chunks.
2. Add white and brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt and mix together.
3. To make the crust, mix flour, sugar, butter and mix all together.
4. When the dough is coarse, add water and mix.
5. Divide the dough into two. Roll out the dough into a flat bread.
6. Line it in the pie pan.
7. Pour strawberry-rhbarb mixture into the crust.
8. Cut strips out of the remaining dough and lay them on the pie.
9. Coat lightly with egg.
10. Bake it at 400 F for 20 minutes and then at 350 F for an hour.
11. Let it cool before serving.
