Strawberry Peach Cake Recipe

Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream
1 (1-pound) can halved peaches
1 quart strawberries, sliced
6 eggs, separated
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup all-purpose flour
Directions
1. Beat egg yolks with lemon juice and vanilla, slowly adding 1/2 cup sugar until mixture is thick.
2. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Slowly add cream of tartar. Add 1/2 cup of sugar, a little at a time until stiff.
3. Fold in the yolk mixture.
4. Sift the flour and fold into the mixture.
5. Pour into a 10-inch tube pan and bake in a 325°F oven for about 50 minutes.
6. Release from pan and let cool.
7. Beat cream until stiff.
8. Slice cake horizontally in half and spread half of the whipped cream on the bottom half of the cake.
9. Place half the peaches over the whipped cream, then add the strawberries.
10. Put the top layer of the cake back, decorating it with the remaining whipped cream, strawberries, and peaches.
