 1 pint strawberries, washed and hulled
 Sugar1/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Cornstarch1 Tablespoon
 Lemon juice1 Tablespoon
 Ground nutmeg1/8 Teaspoon
 Salt1 Dash
 3/4 cup whipping cream, whipped and divided
 Kirsch2 Tablespoon
 Vanilla Ice Cream2 Pint

Directions

Set aside 6 to 8 small strawberries; puree remaining berries.
Combine sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, nutmeg, salt, and pureed strawberries in a saucepan; stir well.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Let cool.
Fold in 1 cup whipped cream, kirsch, and food coloring, if desired; chill.
Place a whole strawberry in each of 6 to 8 parfait glasses; top with a scoop of ice cream and about 2 tablespoons strawberry mixture.
Repeat layers of ice cream and strawberry mixture.
Top with remaining whipped cream.
