 2 cups strawberries, hulled
 Cream fresh1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 2 cups strawberry flavoured custard
 Sherry2 Tablespoon
 Sugar1 Cup (16 tbs)
 6 large pieces of readymade sponge cake
 Cherries6

Directions

Sprinkle sugar over the strawberries and reserve.
Arrange cake pieces at the bottom of a serving bowl and sprinkle sherry over.
Add the strawberries with the melted sugar syrup.
Pour the custard over neatly, and chill till set.
Before serving, add a layer of whipped cream and decorate with the cherries
Serve cold.
