Ingredients
3 apples
2 tablespoons lemon juice, divided
8 sheets filo dough
6 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup ground walnuts, divided
1 cup quartered fresh strawberries
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon quick-cooking tapioca
2 tablespoons honey
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Butter a baking sheet.
Peel, core, and coarsely chop apples, placing them into a large bowl.
Cover with water, and stir in 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
Lay out 2 sheets of filo dough on a piece of wax paper.
Brush with butter, and sprinkle with 1/3 cup nuts.
Place 2 more sheets of filo dough on top.
Repeat layers until 6 filo sheets have been used.
Top with remaining filo sheets, and brush with butter.
Drain apples thoroughly.
Toss with strawberries, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, cinnamon, and tapioca.
Spread mixture on prepared filo, leaving a 1-inch margin at edges.
Drizzle honey over filling.
