Strawberries Romanoff Recipe

Ingredients
3 to 4 cups (750 mL to 1 L) fresh strawberries
1/2 cup (125 mL) fruit sugar
1/4 tsp (1 mL) rose water or 1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla extract
1 cup (250 mL) whipping cream
2 cups (500 mL) strawberry ice cream
2 tbsp (30 mL) brandy or rum
Directions
Wash the strawberries quickly under running cold water (use a colander).
Shake well, spread on a cloth to dry, about 30 minutes.
Place strawberries in a microwave-safe bowl with the fruit sugar.
Shake the bowl to distribute the sugar on the strawberries.
Microwave 1 minute at MEDIUM.
Shake the bowl gently and microwave another minute at MEDIUM-LOW.
Refrigerate 1 hour.
Whip the cream (do not sweeten) and refrigerate.
(It can be refrigerated as long as the strawberries.) When ready to serve, remove the ice cream from the freezer, uncover and microwave 1 minute at MEDIUM-HIGH to soften.
Place in a bowl, add the whipped cream and the brandy or the rum.
Mix well and fold in the strawberries.
Serve as soon as ready.
